Edit the side bar

This is a good post for beginners.

To edit the side bar:

Ok. When looking at your website in edit mode you can simply click on edit side bar under the actual side bar! Simple as that.

Another way to edit the side bar is:

More > manage > site layout > you can edit the side bar from there.

Let me know how you get on.

  1. Problem with Google Sites' Sidebar is that it doesn't allow a little more modification or at least adding gadgets to that sidebar. It would be nice if there is a way to do so.

  2. I know it is frustrating that you can not add gadgets, apart from gadgets what did you want to add? It is always worth making a suggestion that I can then pass on to the google team. B x

  3. You can't add a facebook like button to the sidebar :(

  4. When I select the edit pencil icon, I can only edit some features of the content area, not the sidebar. I have to go to the manage site menu or the edit site layout menu. I am creating a Google Group Site while logging into Google Sites via the University of Washington (they have an extra storage space agreement with the university). I have been concerned that somehow it is different than if I started through a normal free Google Sites account.
